*Just a quick message here before I start this post… I am by no means an expert or professional on this topic. I am just an average girl, writing about things I have learned, along with things that I have experienced, or things I have tried that have worked for me.
What is the Law of Attraction?
have done so much research over the past few years about the concept of the Law of Attraction and manifesting your desires. I, like many others, started off by watching the infamous movie, ““The Secret”. If you haven’t seen “The Secret” yet, you need to! It does such a good job of explaining the basic concepts of this idea. I got really, really into meditations on the subject, books, and documentaries. Basically whatever I could get my hands on, I wanted to try.
If you aren’t familiar, the basic belief of the Law of Attraction is that what you focus on expands and will manifest itself into your life. If this belief is true, then you can attract anything you want into your own life.
I understand that to some this may sound far-fetched and almost impossible to believe, but that is really where the problem comes in. Most of us can’t, or won’t, imagine that we can attract these beautiful things we desire into our lives, and so we don’t. I think one of the greatest challenges people face with this belief is that they are always focusing on what they want, yet focusing on the lack there of, rather than the feelings of already know what you want is on its way to you. If you can shift your focus, visualize, and actually FEEL all of the things you’d be feeling if you got what you desired, you would see that it is already on it’s way to you, and you will manifest your desires so much quicker.
Think about the last bad day you had. There’s a good chance that you woke up on the wrong side of the bed, maybe late, and weren’t feeling the greatest. Funny enough, after that, almost everything seemed to go wrong for you. You get stuck in traffic, your boss says something to piss you off, and then you are late to a meeting. Think about it. We have ALL had days like this. Whether you believe it or not, you attracted all of these bad events into your life by focusing on your “lack of” and being in a low vibration.
My Experience with Using the Law of Attraction…
Through all of my research, I came across a book about two years ago called “E-Squared: Nine Do-It Yourself Energy Experiments That Prove Your Thoughts Create Your Reality” written by Pam Grout. I’m not kidding when I say this… Literally ANY DOUBT I had about this stuff completely vanished after I read this book and tested this theory out for myself.
There was an experiment in this book where you were asked to decide on something you wanted to manifest into your life within 48 hours. Could be anything you can truly imagine and feel excited about. I decided that within 48 hours, I wanted to receive a bouquet of roses. Now, I didn’t know how this was going to happen, but I truly knew and believed that I would. For those next two days, I literally OBSESSED about how it would feel getting these roses. I would visualize. I would talk about it constantly to my coworker, and good friend, Darius. I truly felt how I would be feeling when I received them, and believed it would happen.
Two days after deciding what I wanted to attract, I got to work, and a bouquet of roses arrived for me from my boyfriend at the time (PS. This was not something that he’d ever done before). My coworker and I laughed and laughed. We literally could not believe that I manifested my desire. Don’t believe me, try it out yourself. Pick up the book at your local Indigo and give it a try. I was amazed, and you will be too.
Moral of the story, Law of Attraction is always working whether you believe it is or not. Try to pay attention to the thoughts that go through your mind, especially the ones you are not aware of all the time. Pay attention to negative self-talk, and try to challenge it whenever you can. The more you can live in a high vibration frequency, and feel all the “good” feelings as often as possible, the more “good” you will continue to draw into your life.
