In our society today, we all rely on our phones for so many things (maybe more than we should). Although I try not to be glued to my iPhone, there are some apps that really help to simplify life and make tasks much easier to complete.
With millions of apps in the App Store, it can get overwhelming to decide what apps you need, and which ones you don’t. I often install apps that I find on the Top Charts, but they get uninstalled just as quickly.
I compiled a list of 5 apps that I have consistently used for a long period of time now. I think it goes without saying that Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, Mail apps, and Netflix are all fairly common apps that MANY people swear by and use on a daily basis. Instead of focusing on them, I’m going to go over the 5 apps that I use daily, that you may not have heard of.

1. Apple Maps-
I will NEVER understand why Apple Maps gets so much hate. I know SO many people complain about this app, but I personally love it so much. I have also heard good things about Google Maps (which I have tried), but being an iPhone user, I like this one better. It hardly uses any data, and the traffic updates are always accurate. I plug in my work address (about an hour drive without traffic) and it tells me the quickest route (which changes all the time).
It will also tell you the time of arrival, which is always right on the dot (sometimes I get there a few minutes earlier because I drive too fast- haha!) I also like that if a quicker route becomes available (due to an accident, for example) the app will reroute you. LIFE SAVER!
I’ve mentioned this app on my blog before (click here to read the full post), but I seriously love Headspace for meditation. Life gets busy, and we don’t always have time for things like this.
Headspace makes it easy though, because they have guided meditations that range from 5 minutes to 20 minutes, depending what you have time for. I personally prefer to meditate just before bed, as it helps me to sleep. It is a paid subscription, however they have many free tracks to choose from.
Some of the categories you can choose from include: Sadness, Stress, Managing Anxiety, Self-Esteem, Motivation, and Happiness (to name just a few).
I guess this one completely depends on whether or not you’re a Starbucks fan! Personally, I’m completely addicted to their Flat White & Cold Brews. If you ARE a Starbucks fan, YOU NEED THE APP!
You load money onto your phone, so you will never need a wallet to pay for your coffee again! I love how convenient it is. The other nice thing about the app is that you get stars (points) to use towards free drinks or food. You can also pre-order, and pick up at the store which is great if you are short on time! Check it out!
This is a great one for Instagram users! My biggest pet peeve with Instagram is that the image doesn’t always zoom out as much as I would like it to. With this app, you can zoom out as much as your heart desires! There is also an option to choose a background for your photo, and many, many filter options. Also, it’s totally free.
I saved the best for last. This app costs $2.39 a year, which ANYONE can afford. It is basically an app that helps you organize all of your tasks, day by day. You type in your task, choose a date (if you’d like) and you also have the option to add it to a list. On my phone, I have a list for Work and Shopping List. When you complete the task, you simply swipe right to remove it from your list. This is a great tool for those that want to stay organized and keep on top of daily tasks.
